Part of our business is to attend trade shows a few times each year. At Surfaces, Coverings, and Cersaie, our manufacturer partners gather in one place and present their latest collections. More important, these shows are a marathon of meetings, quick hellos, and other interactions with the who’s who in the tile industry. It’s a chance to take a pulse of the industry, and over the last few years, that pulse has been weak and dwindling.
This year feels different. You notice some significant absences, but those who are in attendance are more optimistic than they’ve been in a couple of years. Dealers and distributors seem to have found their footing after an extended period of uncertainty. And that new surefootedness is allowing them to make commitments for new lines.
