This year we teamed up with JPC Architects to participate in Product Runway, an annual design extravaganza where local materials companies (like us) showcase our wares in an extraordinary way. Participants create wearable fashions using tile, furniture, carpets–whatever materials the suppliers want to highlight. In our case, we featured bright red Puzzle Glass Tiles from Villi, as well as our I Frammenti line of micro-mosaic tiles. The designers created a butterfly effect by fabricating two dresses to be worn side by side. Our models rocked the runway (stone joke!) and everyone had an amazing time. Although we didn’t take the prize, we know in our hearts that we should have. We look forward to next year’s competition already.

Tom has worked with Statements for many years, and is definitely part of our family
here. And so, in many ways, we all feel like proud parents as he celebrates the marriage of his daughter.
Tom also has his own distinctive sense of style. Most fathers would wear a stodgy wingtip or a patent leather shoe in a high polish. Boring! Instead, Tom broke out a pair of Air Jordans that he has been saving for just this occasion.

Statements Tile Featured In Bellevue Style Blog For Product Runway
VueSociety just posted an article about our participation in this year’s Product Runway happening in Seattle. Here’s a snippet from the interview with our design team:
“What inspired your piece? Born from last year’s Product Runway show, the central concept for this year’s piece has not wavered since then. Implemented and contextualized, the original idea has remained the most obvious expression of the piece.
Now, who doesn’t love Victoria Beckham?
What was your vision and has it been the same since you started planning? Our Concept Statement: JPC Architects and Statements Distinctive Stone & Tile reflect on high fashion; as a physical design seeks to animate the narcissistic love of one’s own mirror image.”
